Sexual reproduction of metamorphoses images |
The sexual reproduction of metamorphoses images, which will be described from now on as bi-sexual recombination, uses a similar technique as the extended asexual reproduction with the part operations cutting off, rest-transformation distortion. The difference is, that these operations are carried out for one parent and that the result in inserted into the structure of the other parent. Here as well different sections of the operations can be applied. Further distortion operations should be applied after the recombination. |

Parent population |
There is a starting population from which a parent couple with exact two parents is selected during a reproduction operation. One parent is called the primary, the second the secondary parent part. The function of the primary parent is, that the mutated sub structure is integrated into his own structure. Within an evolution with data oriented technique is performed through an exemption or an integration operation.

Selection of the masks and cutting |
Within the first step of mutation the secondary parent part a mask is selected. With this mask a copy or a cutting operation is performed. Parallel a ROI is selected in the primary parent part, in which the part structure should be inserted. Image 2) RIO and MasksImage 3) Selection of a RIO a and a mask

RST Transformation |
The cut part structure is turned, scaled and transferred, this means, a RST Transformation is applied, which can be seen as another implementation of a mutation operation
Image 4) RST TransformationTo include the mutated structure into the structure of the primary parent part the mutated structure has to be exempted because otherwise the white background would overwrite parts in the primary structure. |

Recombination |
In the next step the actual recombination is carried out. This is done by inserting the exempted and mutated part structure by an inserting operation. One of the ROIs is used as placement for the primary parent part, this means a rectangular ROI of the primary parent part is selected followed by a repeated scaling of the exempted part structure of the secondary parent part. The scaling has not be chosen as large as the maximum magnitude of the ROI. The part structure has to fit into the ROI without any overlapping, hence the part structure must be significant smaller. This results in another transformation because it has to be specified, where the part structure should be paced in the ROI. Generally a centering should be performed.

Distortion |
Now a sequence of distortion operations is carried out on the recombined offspring. This operation is limited to the ROI in which the part structure has been inserted. The generated descendant is inserted into the interim population. Image 6) Distortion and Inserting in the interim population

Post processing after successful selection |
Having reached the aimed number of individuals the descendants are evaluated an the best(!) members the interim population are selected in respect to the selection criteria of the artist. Image 7) Post Processing

Determining the ROIS and masks |
Hence the offspring can be chosen in the further evolution as a secondary parent part it is necessary that one or more masks are generated. ROIs have to be generated as well since the descendant can act as primary parent part further on as well. Image 8) Determination of ROIs and Masks
